During road improvements in Limmel at the corner of Dolmanstraat and Populierweg, this stone was pulled out from under the road surface in 1954. It had broken into two pieces and was otherwise badly damaged. It was thought that this stone came from the Rechtstraat and therefore IN THE DUTCH COAT OF ARMS was placed there.
Indeed, there was a house of that name on the other side of the street, to which another stone belonged that surfaced later on..
The Dutch lion has 7 arrows in its paw, symbolising the then 7 northern provinces.
