The stone comes from the cellar of this building and it is actually a pity that it has been placed so out of sight in the narrow side (!) street. Years ago a wooden replica was attached to the facade in Rechtstraat, but where that has gone is unknown.
Another horn can be found in Stationsstraat.
But this one comes from Kleine Gracht, where it was discovered in 1952 in the rear annex of no. 30, bricked up in the side wall.
In 1651 there was talk of "a certain house the horn located at Kleine Gracht". The simple, austere design of the stone hints at a high age. Later this building was a station of the Royal Horse Post Office.
