The horseshoe, which reminds us of Wodan's horse, is traditionally considered to bring good luck. However, it is important to know how. The correct way is with the open part upwards, in a U-shape. In this way one catches the good luck that comes from above. The iron will not do this the other way round; indeed, it is said that in that case luck will run out.

So no good luck charm in this house, but otherwise the sign of the horseshoe is particularly appropriate in this street. As the street name suggests, a concentration of blacksmiths used to live here.
