An archive picture from 1912, made in the cellar under the Dinghuis, shows that on the stone of IN THE WHITE ROSE "H.Brugstr" is written. This is probably a mistake, because according to other sources, this rose, which has now been moved to Kapoenstraat 20, comes from Rechtstraat 52.
There are quite a few gable stones in Maastricht with an image or the name of a rose. Flowers, stars and animals were quite popular as house names, but in the case of the rose, it may have something to do with the family name Rosen.
