In the Maastricht of days past there were dozens of distilleries where gin and brandy were produced, often on a small scale in ordinary houses. It is therefore not surprising that brandy and distillery boilers can also be found on gablestones in other places, such as IN THE GOLDEN BRANDY KETTLE, Jodenstraat 26, and IN THE DISTILLERY KETTLE, Mariastraat 11.
This distillery boiler is from Markt 46, which had to make way for the construction of the Wilhelmina Bridge in 1931.
