IN THE CHERRY TREE, Hoogbrugstraat 11, was called "in den keirsseboom" by van Lennep. The book Monuments in Limburg reads "in den keersseboem" and in the so-called list of names one can read "keersseboum". These different spellings are a characteristic of the spelling, with which gable stones were described and inventory lists compiled at that time. Little was fixed exactly. The texts on gable stones were often no longer clearly legible due to overdue maintenance.
