The raven was called the bird of misfortune. It was a symbol of illness, war and death. To ward off disaster, people used to keep a living raven in a cage or put its image on a stone or sign in front of the house.

From the depository of the historical museum in the Dinghuis, this raven has been reinstated here. Its place of origin is unknown.
