Dragoon Guard or Horseman's Guard.
Building in the Bouillonstraat for the guard, dragoons on horseback, of the military government on the other side. In the 18th century it was called the "General's Guard at the Court". It was built in 1770 to replace an existing building. The specifications for this building stated that the front above the entrance door "will be carved with the city arms, being an Angel with its drapery and a star with five points". It was founded and paid for by the city, hence the city arms in the pediment. In 1858 there was a municipal fire hydrant and the Governor's coachman who lived there. Later the calibration office was located there (1899-1969).
A similar guard building can also be found at the OL-Vrouwe basilica.
The city arms may have disappeared, but the contours of the city angel are still clearly visible.
Military guard house
Dating back to 1770, it housed officers and men charged with guarding the military government of the time, located opposite.
In both corner porches, covered with an arched pediment, a cavalry post was set out.
