Coins with this image were the so-called Nobles. They had been minted since 1344 in the name of the king of England, but were also copied and used in our regions.
The facade stone is an almost perfect copy of the so-called Rose Noble of Edward IV.
The edge inscription reads: DNS IBEED U ARD DEI GRA REX ANG ET FRAN. A typical example of word mutilation by truncating and shortening words. However, once you know which letters belong together and where to start reading, the full text can be retrieved:
EDUARD DEI GRA(tia) REX ANG(liae) ET FRAN(ciae) D(omi)N(u)S (h)IBE(rniae),
meaning: Edward, by the grace of God, King of England and France, Lord of Ireland.
The gable stone is supposed to be from 1737, but this date is no longer present, nor is the name IN THE ROSE NOBLE, which could be read on a separate stone.
The archive photo also shows that the shape of the gable stone has changed by the disappearance of the slanting facade pilasters.
