The house names "the falcon" and "the eagle" used to be mixed up, so it should come as no surprise that Boschstraat 105 was called "the falcon", "the black eagle", "au faucon" and "l'aigle noir" at different times. Older people may remember that the name "the black eagle" was displayed above the entrance, not as the caption of a gable stone, because it is not there.
The earlier name you can see in the two heads of birds of prey, which are placed in a sort of medallion.
In the 19th century it housed a kind of inn, which merged with a hotel across the street which then was named "Hotel du lévrier et de l'aigle noir".
Next it housed the brewery of the M. Marres family, which advertised with the name "Brouwerij De Valk, anno 1849".
